The Philmont scout ranch covers approximately 137,000 acres and is located in the Sangre de Cristo region of the Rocky Mountains.   The Sangre de Cristo Mountains are one of the longest mountain chains in the world, stretching from New Mexico to Colorado.  It is also home to mountain peaks that reach over 14,000' high.

This vast area offers unlimited fun for scouts.  Your troop is sure to enjoy the hiking, mountain climbing, backpacking, fishing, white water rafting and other adventure opportunities.  Our programs offer outstanding scout enjoyment and entertainment.

Leading The Way Tours owner, Christine Emrick, has been working with scouts visiting the Philmont area for the past 17 years.  Her unique insight into scouting, combined with her knowledge of the Philmont area, ensure you and your troop have an adventure you will never forget.  Christine works one on one with you prior to your visit to be sure that no questions, concerns or special needs are overlooked.

Always going that extra mile, Christine will greet you when you and your troop arrive in Cimarron, NM.  She will assist you each step of the way to help remove the stress and hassles that traveling with a group of scouts can sometimes create.  The trip to the Philmont Ranch should as much fun for the scout leaders as it is for the scouts!
